Our Departments

Produce

Our community is abundant with local growers, and we are proud to display their diverse bounty in our store. We are committed to sourcing our produce from local farmers whenever possible, thereby shortening the distance between field and your cart and ensuring our co-op community has access to the freshest produce around. We are focused on local, seasonal, and organically grown food.

Morning Sun Farms is run by Janet and Everett Marsh and is located in Frederic, WI. They have been long-time members of the Luck Natural Foods, recalling the days when we operated out of the church basement in Frederic. Our co-op has enjoyed their nutrient-dense microgreens, pea shoots and lettuces in our produce cooler for nearly a decade.
Through greenhouses, they offer extended-season vegetables. In the summer months they grow food for their CSA which includes poultry, eggs, maple syrup, kettle corn, and beef.

Meat

We work directly with farmers right here in our community who are dedicated to the health of the land they steward, the animals they raise and the people they feed. We carry the cuts of entire animals in our freezers, offering our customers the full gamut of roasts, steaks, soup bones and organ meats that comes with eating directly from a farmer. We strive to maintain a diverse freezer of cuts at all times, but as we are working directly with small, independent farmers and their seasonally dependent butcher schedules, our inventory will ebb and flow as a result. We carry beef, pork, chicken, turkey, lamb, bison, goat, and seafood.

Bulk

We carry a large variety of grains, beans, nuts, flours, oils, vinegars and soaps. Whether you are looking for gluten-free goods or specialty flour for bread-making, bulk is the way to go. Purchasing in bulk is an excellent way to reduce the amount of packaging your household uses.  Bulk goods are also a great way to save money; you can also get as much or as little as you need.

Whole Grain Milling (WGM) is located in Welcome, MN. The Hilgendorfs grow a wide variety of grains (barley, buckwheat, corn, millet, oats, sorghum, rye, wheat), beans (black, garbanzo, kidney) and seeds. They mill so many excellent products from their harvest. WGM is a farm-direct, certified organic (in 1989) operation. WGM takes a start-to-finish approach to grains which is really admirable. The common path from field-to-fork for grain usually leads from farm to grain elevator, then to a terminal elevator for distribution to a milling company, who then sells it to retailers. WGM is the only connection point between their fields and your meals. Truly field-to-fork.

Sister Crave Bread was established in 2020 in Osceola, WI. "All of the bread is made with a slow-fermentation process, all born from a beloved sourdough starter named Sweets. I believe strongly in the positive impact that locally-sourced and whole grain flours or grains can have on our gut, our environment, and our local economy."
